Aggregate Clearings On Two Stock Exchange Settling Days Per Month. In A Few Cases The Second Settling Day Fell Within The First Few Days Of The Next Month. In Such Instances This Date Was Assigned Back By NBER To The Previous Month For Which It Represents Clearings. The Sum Of Monthly Figures Were Checked Against Annual Totals, In Addition To Checking Individual Figures. Source: Bankers' Magazine (London).
