In Such Instances This Date Was Assigned Back By NBER To The Previous Month For Which It Represents Clearings. The Sum Of Monthly Figures Were Checked Against Annual Totals, In Addition To Checking Individual Figures. Source: Bankers' Magazine (London). The Economist Was Also Used For Omissions And For Checking Obvious Misprints.
