Series Is Presented Here As Two Variables--(1)--Original Data, 1899-1939 (2)--Original Data, 1932-1965. Beginning In 1933, Coverage Includes Open-Hearth, Bessemer, Crucible, And Electric Ingots. Annual Totals Were Checked With The 1938 Statistical Report Of The American Iron And Steel Institute. For 1933-October 1939, Monthly Production Was Divided By The Number Of Working Days Per Month. Figures For November And December 1939 Were Converted From Net To Gross Tons, Then Divided By The Number Of Working Days.
