These Are The Sum Of Separate Estimates For State Governments, Counties, And Local Governments, All Based Mainly On Census Bureau Reports On Government Finances, Particularly The Censuses Of "Wealth, Debt, And Taxation," For 1902 And 1913, The "Financial Statistics Of States," And The"Financial Statistics Of Cities." A Considerable Amount Of Interpolation Was Required To Derive The Estimates For States, Counties, And Small Cities. This Series Is Treated In The Source As A Continuation Of The Bls- Commerce Series Published In "Construction And Building Materials, Statistical Supplement, May 1954," Even Though There Were Some Differences Between The Two For 1915 And Later Years.
